Genuine Ice Cream is a Bozeman-based, small-batch ice creamery rooted in Montana values — hard work, craftsmanship, and treating people like neighbors. Every scoop is made with care by a team that believes the details matter, from high-quality ingredients in the kitchen to genuine hospitality at the counter.

Ice cream is what we make, but connection is why we’re here. It’s how we celebrate summer evenings, post-game wins, first dates, and long days well spent. Meet, Ellie

Owner of Genuine Ice Cream

Ellie’s journey with Genuine Ice Cream began long before ownership. As General Manager, she helped guide a period of significant growth and operational evolution—strengthening systems, refining the customer experience, and building the team that would carry the company forward. In 2020, she stepped into ownership with a clear commitment to leading Genuine into its next chapter of intentional growth and operational excellence.

Under her leadership, Genuine has expanded thoughtfully across retail and wholesale while investing deeply in its people and processes. Ellie focuses on optimizing systems, developing leaders, and creating an environment where high standards and genuine hospitality coexist. She is committed to building a workplace that values accountability, growth, and shared success—where team members are empowered to take ownership and customers feel the care behind every detail.

Ellie also serves on the Board of the North American Ice Cream Association and the Board of Fish & Wildlife Volunteers, reflecting her commitment to advancing the craft of ice cream and supporting the outdoor spaces that define life in Montana.

Being outside has always been where she feels most grounded. Whether she’s on the trail with her people or exploring Montana’s rivers and mountains, she values the clarity and perspective that time outside brings. That same mindset shapes how she leads—bringing integrity, intention, and a deep belief in creating experiences that bring people together.

  • All Genuine ice cream and treats are made by hand, here in Bozeman. Almost every ingredient is made from scratch in our kitchen on the west side of town.

  • Genuine Ice Cream handcrafts small batch ice creams using only the highest quality ingredients and a whole ton of love in each pint. We do not use any artificial ingredients or colors. Our ice cream is considered a super premium ice cream, meaning that we have a higher milk fat content. This milk fat is what provides the ultra creamy texture that we all love. Being based out of Bozeman, MT is something that we hold close to our hearts. Our flavors are inspired by the Montana lifestyle and scenery. Even if you are not from Montana, you can pick up subtle notes on our packaging that are sure to leave you planning a trip to come visit.
